Honiton's Thelma Hulbert Gallery has been highly commended in this year's Museum and Heritage Awards, for its Creative Cabin project.

The project has been recognised in the Pandemic Pivot Award for organisations with fewer than 20 full-time employees.

The Creative Cabin was a joint project between the gallery and Wild East Devon, and provided a mobile space for exploring art and nature. Before Covid restrictions were introduced, it hosted various activities including talks, films and workshops.

While it was grounded during lockdown, a series of short videos was produced called Creative Cabin Shorts, highlighting the inspiring art and nature activities which would have taken place in the cabin.

The cabin is now back on the road, hosting talks and art activities, and has been visiting schools.

For details of the activities taking place soon, visit the Thelma Hulbert Gallery website.
