Following the recent spate of resignations, Honiton Town Council is looking to fill the vacancies.
There are currently seven councillor positions available; three in St Paul's ward and four St Michael's ward.
The seats could be filled on a co-option basis, unless enough people write to the Returning Officer at East Devon District Council calling for an election instead.
According to a statement on the Honiton Town Council website: "Any ten electors for the electoral area may give notice requesting that an election be held to fill these latest vacancies and such notice must be in writing and given to the Returning Officer at East Devon District Council within fourteen days of the date of publication of the notice.
"If an election is requested under current legislation a poll cannot take place until 6 May 2021 as a result of the Local Government and Police and Crime Commission (Coronavirus - Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020 and the Coronavirus Act 2020."
