Honiton Town Council has appointed a new town clerk, Mr Stephen Hill, who started in the role yesterday (18 Jan).

Recruitment has been underway since the former town clerk officially left the position back in September, having been signed off sick since February 2020.

Mr Hill holds a Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) and is a Fellow of the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC).

He comes with a strong local government background and many years experience working at district councils across Devon and Dorset and in the local council sector at Town Councils in Somerset.

Stephen said: "I am very pleased to be working for Honiton Town Council supporting Honiton's local community.

"It will be an exciting role with plenty of opportunities and experiences to manage.

"Working with councillors, the officer team and the community, I will try to make a difference."
