On April 2 Honiton Town Council is holding a public information session to help people save money on their energy bills.
The event is being supported by Honiton charities, such as TRIP and Citizen's Advice Devon.
YES1 is being held in The Beehive and is being sponsored by Bradfords Building Supplies and Nu-Heat, who will be offering advice on how to improve the energy efficiency of your home and thus keep your bills as low as possible.
Energy bills are set to rise dramatically this spring due to an increase in wholesale gas prices.
The energy price cap, which keeps people's bills below a fixed amount, will increase from 1 April for roughly 22 million customers across the UK.
The energy cap is evaluated twice a year and there is likely to be another increase in October 2022.
There will be eight speakers at the event who will present on a range of topics, including affordable home improvements which you can do in your home to help reduce your bills.
Exeter Community Energy and TargetC02 will also be at the event to advise people on how they can access grants to help their home be more energy efficient.
There will also be a presentation on the Beehive as a case study of an energy efficient building.
Cllr David Munge told Nub News: "The conference is to help people manage the vast increases in the energy bills, by making their homes more energy efficient.
"We have eight very good speakers, on a variety of related topics, such as affordable home improvements."
YES1 will take place at The Beehive on April 2 2022 between 10am – 2pm.
