"Come on down, have some tea and cake and choose some nice new clothing!"

Lauren Passmore-Smart is urging the people of Honiton to come to the Community College this afternoon to support her Clothes Swap Shop!

Lauren (aged 36) has organised a Swap Shop to raise money for the Ukraine Red Cross Appeal.

A team of volunteers have been in the Honiton Community College hall since 8am this morning (Saturday) and they have sorted through a huge amount of donations!

There are clothes for children, including school uniforms, baby clothes and sleepsuits and there are several large tables and rails of clothes for women and men.

Honiton Foodsave and Honiton Food Bank have provided some items for people to take away for free and there is tea, coffee and cakes available for a donation.

Some chairs have even been set up in the garden for people to sit and enjoy the sunshine!

Everyone is welcome this afternoon from 1pm to either swap clothes or make a donation to purchase clothes. It does not matter whether or not you have made a clothes donation.

Lauren told Nub News: "There were a lot of places that weren't accepting clothes donations anymore for Ukraine, but I wanted to do something to help.

"I came up with the idea of a clothes swap, which is recycling and eco-friendly.

"We're selling teas, coffees and cakes for donations as well. Just to try and raise as money as possible for the Ukraine appeal.

"I've had an amazing team of helpers from 8am and they have been absolutely brilliant. We've had lots of people come in with donations and it is just a really lovely atmosphere!"

The Clothes Swap Shop starts at 1pm in the Honiton Community College Drama Hall.
