2019 marks the 50th anniversary of Bests of Honiton trading on the High Street.
Bests moved to its current address at 134, with original owner Steve Best in 1975.
The business was bought by Rob and Pauline Curry back in 1989, and 30 years later they remain at the helm of one of the 'best' loved shops in town.
Speaking about their time there, Pauline and Rob said: "We have known three generations of customers and can attribute one marriage and long-term engagement directly to the shop - resulting in four children.
"We have employed many delivery lads and Saturday assistants who have gone on to become accountants, a lawyer, builders, a fireman, an advertising executive and an engineer.
"I love seeing pictures of what Honiton High Street used to look like - with all the shops and businesses that have since gone.
"For example, Leos Jeans, the Golden Tassel, Hoskins and Laurie's the delicatessens - I really miss them and wish they were still here.
"However, I do believe that what Honiton has retained is its variety of independent shops, which make it a friendly and charming town to live, work and shop in.
"We could not of achieved this milestone without our customers, many of whom have become friends along the way.
"We are inviting people to pop into the shop tomorrow (Wednesday 11 September) where refreshments will be available and a chance to reminisce about Honiton over the years."
