Honiton's Devon Freewheelers announced as semi-finalist in Outstanding Care Awards 2020

Honiton based charity Devon Freewheelers has been announced as a semi-finalist in this year Outstanding Care Awards Devon and Cornwall.

Devon Freewheelers have been selected as semi-finalists in the Voluntary Sector Award.

The Voluntary Sector Award is for a service or individual that has had a significant impact on the community in the past year.

To be eligible for the award Devon Freewheelers had provide evidence that the charity works for the public benefit, makes an impact on people's lives and that it is open to learning and development.

A spokesperson for Devon Freewheelers took to social media today to say: "Massive congratulations to the fantastic volunteers of Devon Freewheelers, who have been announced as semi- finalists in the Outstanding Care Awards Devon & Cornwall 2020.

"This nomination is testament to the outstanding free Blood Bike service our volunteer controllers, riders, and drivers operate 365 days a year to support the NHS across Devon, and the fundraisers that support them.

"We could not be prouder of you all, well done!"

The Outstanding Care Awards celebrate the most dedicated individuals, providers and suppliers in the care industry across Devon and Cornwall.

The awards will be presented at an event on the June 19, 2020, hosted at Sandy Park in Exeter.
