Musical Bees, a singing group for parents/carers and their children held a special event this morning for Children in Need.

BBC Children in Need is a fundraising charity that has been running for over fifty years. This year's Children in Need Day is today, 19 November. They raise money for children's services across the UK.

Held in Honiton's Methodist Church, Musical Bees meet weekly on a Friday at 10.30am for singing and dancing.

The group's organiser, Clare Chapman has lived locally for many years and she now lives in Gittisham.

Clare wanted to hold a special class and try to raise some money for the charity.

She said: "I decided we could wear PJs and I would ask for donations instead of the usual entrance fee, then donate everything on the day to Children in Need."

"It was a busy and lively session with lots of props, scarfs for dancing with and then to finish – the big gathering drums, which the children love."

"We raised £70!!! So a big thank you to all the parents and children who came along this morning."

Musical Bees is held in The Methodist Church in Honiton. Doors open from 10am for playing before the class starts at 10.30am.

It costs £3.50 for one child or £5 for two children.
