The organisers of Foodsave are holding a Christmas Bingo to celebrate their one year anniversary and raise much needed funds

Jake Bonetta is the founder of Foodsave, a charity he set up in November 2020.

The organisation aims to reduce food poverty and food waste in Honiton.

Surplus food is collected from local supermarkets and distributed for free to the community. It is available to individuals or groups.

Jake explained why the fundraiser was needed: "Funds raised through our Bingo night will directly support the development of new Foodsave projects, such as our move towards a paperless service and technological upgrades to support our volunteers.

"It will also go directly towards our volunteering team, supporting the costs of delivering to those most in need whilst also providing a welfare boost over this Christmas break."

Prizes have been donated by Tesco, Porkies, In My Back Yard and Honiton Garden Centre.

Tyler Bonetta, who volunteers with Foodsave said: "There are many different prizes up for grabs, such as Christmas Dinners, chocolate and more!"

The event is on Saturday December 11 in Honiton Family Church. Please arrive at 7pm for eyes down for 7.30pm.
