Honiton's Marcus Wyatt (age 30) is in Beijing taking part in the 2022 Winter Olympics. He is part of Great Briton's skeleton team, but he and his teammates had a tough day on the track on Thursday.

At the end of today's second heat, Marcus was in 17th position, with an overall time of 2:03.28

Great Briton's other challenger, Matt Weston, came in 13th position, with a speed of 2:02:49

The competitor with the fastest speed was Germany's Christopher Grotheer, who completed the heats with a speed of 2:00.33

This makes Christopher the favourite to win the Gold Medal in tomorrow's event.

The British teams have won medals at all the seven games where skeleton racing has occurred, and hopes were high for this year's games. Marcus won silver in November's Test event.

The track has proved challenging and the team were still becoming familiar with it. It features the world's only 360-degree turn.

Marcus has at least one more opportunity to climb the board tomorrow, and he will qualify for a fourth if he is placed in the top 20 after the third heat.

Heats three and four take place tomorrow (Friday) at 12:20pm

All the best, Marcus!
