The retail outlet Soft Options on Honiton High Street has been shortlisted for the Best Retail category in the upcoming 373 Group Awards.
The independently owned bespoke soft furnishings store is one of six retailers, based in Devon and Somerset, to have been nominated.
In fact, two of the entries are Honiton based with Honiton Sports Shop also in the running (more on this to come).
The 373 Group is a not for profit networking group for business people operating across the South West, but especially Devon and Somerset.
This will be the fourth 373 Group Awards event, which is to be held at Escot Estate in Fairmile on Thursday 11, July.
Nub News spoke to Karon Bowern, who runs the shop together with her husband. She said: "We had no idea about it! My husband happened to see it mentioned online, so it was a really nice surprise.
"We took the business on in 2009, so we've been there 10 years now. It was already established on the High Street anyway, but we've evolved it over the years. We produce handmade curtains and blinds and make everything on site - only small percentage of what we stock is bought in.
"Although it's come as a big surprise, we feel honoured to have been nominated for an award. It's just nice to feel that the hard work that everyone in our company puts in has been recognised.
"We pride ourselves on our customer service, which you don't always get from nation-wide companies."
