House Fire at Bradninch
Date: 16.04.2019Time: 23:34Location: BradninchAfter numerous calls to the control room stating there were flames coming from the roof of a property in Bradninch, three fire appliances from Cullompton, Middlemoor and Danes Castle were mobilised to the incident along with an aerial ladder platform from Danes Castle and an officer.Due to the number of calls being received fire control mobilised a 4th fire engine from Tiverton. Very shortly after the first fire engine was in attendance they requested a further two fire engines which came from Tiverton and Danes Castle along with an incident command unit from Honiton, a welfare pod from Crediton and a further two officers after stating the roof was well alight on the large domestic property.23:48 Western power were requested to isolate the power line close to the building.23:53 Information from the incident suggested there was a fire involving the loft space and flames had broken through the roof. All persons were accounted for and crews were at work with two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.00:08 A water bowser from Danes Castle was requested to attend the incident.00:15 one main jet was now also in use and crews were searching the ground floor of the property to isolate utilities and begin salvage operations. 00:21 Incident commander on scene requested a further two fire engines which came from Wellington and Topsham, along with a second aerial appliance which came from Taunton. 00:57 two main jets now in use and a further water bowser requested to attend which was mobilised from Bridgwater.01:12 Urban Search and Rescue crews based in Exeter were requested to attend for structural monitoring. 01:26 Fire investigation officer requested to attend the incident. 01:51 The building consisting of two floors measuring approximately 50m by 10m used as a domestic property has 100% roof damage, 50% damage to the first floor and 30% damage to the ground floor. At this time there was 1 aerial appliance in use, 2 hydrants, 1 water bowser, 3 hose reel jets, 2 main jets, 2 breathing apparatus wearers and salvage was complete. Western power were in attendance isolating power, a cordon was in place due to roof collapse and police were also in attendance due to the size of the incident. 03:31 Wales and West requested to attend. Currently there is 3 hose reel jets, 2 main jets and 2 breathing apparatus wearers in use, steady progress in being made and fire investigation underway. 04:23 There has been a 6 fire engine relief with fresh crews from Exmouth, Wellington, Witheridge, Chulmleigh, Okehampton and Dulverton now in attendance as well as a new incident command unit from Wiveliscombe, relief personnel from Crediton for the welfare pod in attendance and two new officers currently mobile to the incident to take over.
