Much-loved High Street gem, The Lacemakers Café, has revealed a fresh new look having undergone a lockdown makeover.
The work is a result of a collaborative community effort, utilising local talent and Honiton businesses.
Fiona Hanratty of The Lacemakers told Honiton Nub News: "The refurb was completed during lockdown and opened to the public in July.
"We had two fantastic local artists, Samantha Francesca and Adrian Wakley transform the café and a new decorative floor fitted by Honiton Carpets.
"Independent high street shop French Hen advised and supplied paints for the interior decoration.
"We wanted something soft, light and colourful so we opted for pastel shades.
"Local artist and photographer Samantha Francesca painted the tables, chairs and walls with chalk paint 'Frenchic' from French Hen.
"The original lacemakers' designs were inspired by the beauty of the Devon hedgerows, so the artist incorporated the tradition by hand-painting flowers on some of the tables.
"Sam is now transforming the garden and painting the exterior of the cafe."
Local printer and photographer, Adrian Wakley, printed signs for the café and also prints beautiful Devon landscapes and scenery onto mugs and slates, which are available to purchase in the cafe.
