Job of the Week: Funeral Operative at E. A. Dodd & Son

About the role

E. A. Dodd & Son are looking for a full-time Funeral Operative to join their family business. They have offices in Axminster, Seaton, Honiton and Ottery St. Mary.

Salary: From £22,500.00 per year

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include preparing and ensuring the cleanliness of vehicles, bearing the coffin and driving company vehicles, collecting the deceased from a variety of locations and preparing the deceased for viewings and the funeral.

You will be on an on-call rota, which will include unsociable hours and working weekends.

The candidate

Anyone applying must have a full, clean UK driving licence.

The ideal candidate will have experience of driving larger vehicles, a good level of physical fitness (as this role will involve heavy lifting duties) and a genuine desire to help people at a difficult time in their lives. They must be compassionate, well-presented and have the ability to stay calm in emotional circumstances.
