The Honiton Dementia Action Alliance has received over £2,000 in donations to help with the cost of having an Admiral Nurse posted in the town.
Speaking on behalf of the organisation, Heather Penwarden, said: "Fay Valentine our Honiton Admiral Nurse is now in post and actively supporting families and carers who are touched by dementia.
"This valuable work has only been made possible by the amazing contribution from our community.
"Every donation no matter what size is of equal importance to us and we are hugely grateful to Combe Raleigh Village, Honiton Bowling Club and the Honiton Senior Citizens Club for their fabulous donations that will go towards securing the future of this vital local service."
Combe Raleigh Village held a coffee morning, which raised just over £100. Meanwhile, the Honiton Bowling Club sold second hand books securing £834 for the cause, and a generous donation of £1,400 from the Senior Citizens Club brought the total to over £2,000, which will be used to fund the Honiton Admiral Nurse.
In a post on the charity's Facebook page, Penwarden commented: "How lucky we are to live in this most wonderful community that cares so much and takes such positive action."
