Chair of Honiton Town Council has responded to an open letter written by Alan Rowe MBE, which was published earlier today - click the red button below.

Town Mayor, John Zarczynski told Nub News that he was 'saddened' by accusations of bullying within Honiton Town Council.

He said: "I totally reject that there is any bullying going on between town councillors and if there was I would be the first person to address it.

"I find it very disappointing that people are making these disgraceful accusations when there has never been any bullying on this council.

"There is an ongoing issue with regards HR, for which the committee is seeking legal advice.

"We are operating completely within our remit and the terms of reference and are acting solely on the advice given to us by legal professionals.

"We have never acted in any way that is contrary to what is appropriate.

"There are a small handful of people on the council who are hell-bent on causing as much trouble as they can.

"In response to what was said in the letter, it is based on misinformation that people are spreading on social media.

"On Monday [24 February] I look forward to finishing off the unfinished business from the last meeting, which was prematurely adjourned due to disruption."
