Michelin-star chef and his food truck to visit Honiton each week
A chef who has worked in Michelin-star restaurants will be bringing his food-truck to Honiton, from Wednesday 8 February.
Ed McLachlan, 35, owns a food truck business called Yamza. His custom-built food truck already stops off in Exmouth, Sidmouth, and Exminster and, from next week, he will be in Honiton too.
He has previously worked on superyachts and was the Executive Chef for the Royal Family of Abu Dhabi.
Ed grew up in Sidmouth and became the youngest Certified Master Chef in the world when he was just 24. He started Yamza after selling food from his home garage in Sidford during the pandemic in 2020.
This was an enormous success and two years later he founded Yamza.
The food is inspired by Ed's international travels, with Middle Eastern influence as well as Japanese, Thai and Chinese. On the menu are shawarmas, rice bowls (with choices of pork belly, flame roasted chicken or shitake mushroom), loaded fries and a pudding, which changes regularly.
Ed shops locally whenever possible, buying all his meat from the Combe Farm Shop.
He told Nub News: "Our food is a combination of the very best cuisines that I have experienced from around the world. I've experienced so much - from 3 Michelin-star kitchens in New York to bangin' street food vendors in India. I am doing what I love."
Yamza will be available outside Honiton Family Church every Wednesday from 4.30pm - 8pm.
You can also find Yamza at Kennaway House in Sidmouth on Thursdays, Moore's Pasties on Dinan Way Trading Estate in Exmouth on Fridays, and the Texaco garage near Exminster on Saturdays.
