he Beehive is hosting a Volunteers Fayre next week to mark National Volunteers Week.

On Thursday June 1 The Beehive will bring together a host of local charities, voluntary groups and not-for-profit organisations in and around Honiton.

The event hopes to raise awareness of the importance of volunteering and help local organisations recruit new volunteers.

The Beehive's Rachael Larsson said: "As a charity ourselves (which largely depends on volunteers), we wanted to highlight the important role volunteers play, and hope to link up people who would like to help with organisations in need.

"You'll get the chance to meet the faces behind these organisations and discover all the voluntary opportunities they have to offer, so please pop in."

National Volunteers Week, which has been taking place annually for nearly 40 years, runs between 1 - 7 June. This year's theme is 'Celebrate and Inspire' and the Beehive hopes to find a way to make volunteering work for everyone.

The event is an occasion to recognise the important role volunteers play in society and thank them for their efforts.

If you would like a stand at next week's event, you can call The Beehive on 01404 384 050.

The Beehive Café will be open from 10.30am providing lunch and refreshments to visitors.

The event will run from 10am - 2pm on 1 June and entry is free.
