New rules have been introduced at East Devon District Council's car parks in Honiton.

Drivers are being advised to take social distancing precautions when using the council's car parks in the town, 'to protect themselves and others'.

Drivers are being asked to leave one parking space between vehicles, each parking bay is 2.4m wide.

Motorists are also being encouraged carry their own hand sanitiser and to use it before and after using a car park ticket machine.

A spokesperson for EDDC said: "To avoid using the machines altogether, please use our ParkMobile system so that you can make your payment using your own mobile phone.

"The council also provides a contactless payment option at many of its car park ticket machines too."
