Traditional Honiton-based funeral home, E. A. Dodd & Son Funeral Directors, have partnered with Nub News as a contributor to the Honiton Obituaries page.

The family-run business located at Stamps Building on King Street sits at the heart of the community providing bespoke funeral services and aftercare to bereaved families in the local area.

Funeral Director, Paul Fudge, devotes most of his time to the local community.

He currently holds positions as The President Elect for Otter Valley Rotary, Chairperson for Honiton Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Cadet Leader, as well as being active in other community roles.

"I'm very involved with the community and like taking part in what's going on," Paul explained.

"Our business ethos is that we are there for people when they need us and that the care continues long after the funeral has taken place."

Originally from Taunton, Paul is a true professional with a wealth of experience having been involved in the funeral industry since the age of 16.

Before moving to Honiton in 2017, Paul managed a number of funeral homes and crematoriums around the UK and in Canada throughout an esteemed career.

The E. A. Dodd & Son building in Honiton was acquired in June 1999 by family Funeral Directors Julian and Karen Hussey and Eric and Joyce Dunford, who already had funeral homes in Seaton, Axminster and Bridport.

After extensive refurbishment, there is a private chapel of rest, office space, garages and a family room on-site.

Obituaries contributed to Nub News can be any length, include up to 10 images and will be published completely free of charge on the Honiton Nub News website.

Family and friends can view and share the entries, which will remain on the Obituaries section.

There is also the option to include a link to a crowdfunding page or charity if the family is requesting donations in memory of their loved one.

Nub News CEO Karl Hancock said: "Honiton Nub News is bringing obituaries back to life. They used to be some of the most well-read pages in local newspapers. We want to bring that back.

"We give Honiton residents a platform to celebrate the life of a loved one free of charge, and this demonstrates our ongoing commitment to serving the community.

"We are delighted to partner with E. A. Dodd & Son Funeral Service to offer this valuable service for the town.

"Like Honiton Nub News, the company is very much a fixture of the local community and shares the same values.

"We believe obituaries are an essential part of the local news scene."
