A seven-bedroom historic manor house, located just outside Honiton in Monkton, has come on the market with a guide price of £950,000.

Court Hall is being sold by Humberts Estate Agents, who describe the property as, "a magnificent late-Georgian country house with exceptionally spacious and elegant accommodation of immense character."

It comes with three acres of parkland - including paddocks and a woodland glade - eight bathrooms, luxurious bedrooms and lovingly restored original features, such as grand mullion windows and ornate cornicing.

Humberts provides some historical context: "Court Hall is an imposing late Georgian residence, which was built in the 1830s as a weekend country retreat for a Richard Sommers-Gard, a wealthy Exeter and London Banker who later became a Member of Parliament for Exeter.

"The property has been a major part of the village social history over many years and was originally built as a 'hall house', with the first floor over the 'great hall' being added in 1904."
