Police are investigating a road traffic collision at the junction James Lane junction on the A30 near Honiton

The incident took place on Tuesday 11 May soon after 8am and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

In a statement Devon and Cornwall Police said: "A motorbike rider went on to a grass verge and collided with a small wall near a commercial garage.

"The rider, a man in his 50s, sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to Musgrove Park Hospital, Taunton, but was later transferred to Bristol ITU."
