Two men were arrested on Honiton High Street on Saturday night (19 Sept), following reports of a disturbance.

Police were called to an alleged assault of an emergency worker at around midnight. A 'violent male' at the scene is then believed to have 'resisted arrest and assaulted officers'.

According to a spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police: "A 30-year-old man from the Exeter area was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and assault of an emergency worker. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue.

"A 25-year-old man from the Honiton area was arrested on suspicion of breach of the peace, being drunk and disorderly, and assault of an emergency worker. He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue."

A police officer at the scene, SC Devin Clark-Call, tweeted: "Very busy night shift last night, ended up with a fight in East Devon where a violent male resisted arrest and assaulted officers, captor deployed and subject arrested for assault emergency worker x2 and D&D."
