Review: The Grazing Cow, Offwell

By Kate Baxter 9th Oct 2022

The Grazing Cow is a café and farm shop which can be found in a convenient location just off the A35 in Offwell.

Once off the busy main road, the café and shop make an appealing place to pick up some delicious food to cook at home, buy a gift and have something nice to eat in the café.

The farm shop sells fruit and vegetables, locally made condiments, chocolates and drinks such as vodka and gin which have been produced in the South West. There is a fridge and freezer full of sustainably sourced meats, farm yoghurts, sorbets and ready-meals. There are also deli items such as sausage rolls and pasties. The small homeware section sells vases, mugs, cards, soaps and attractive trinkets.

Once inside the café, you're welcomed by delicious smells and a lovely ambience. When I visited on a weekday morning, it was already fairly busy. I opted for the bacon and fried egg sandwich after seeing lots of other customers enjoying it!

The café sells a wide range of breakfasts, main meals and cakes with a frequently changing Specials Board.

The food was very good – crispy bacon and a nicely fried egg. The cakes looked good too, as did the specials board. To the back of the café is an outside terrace and patio area, which would be lovely on a sunny day!
