Seaton Library has been chosen to host a new and innovative art display, called The Glass Room, which explores misinformation in the media.

The Glass Room is an international exhibition which has toured in Australia, Germany, The Netherlands and Japan.

In an increasingly digital world, with growing reliance on social media and the internet, The Glass Room challenges our understanding of information.

Visitors are shown a series of animations, visualisations and posters which present ideas such as design strategies, deepfakes, profiling and misinformation.

The exhibition elicits questions such as how do we know the information we are reading is correct? What information are we not being told about, and what can we do if we encounter information and cannot verify its accuracy?

The Glass Room examines the effect technology has on our lives and offers practical solutions as to how we can mitigate those effects, and, if necessary, improve our wellbeing by having a digital detox.

The exhibition is open now and it is free of charge.

More information about the exhibition can be found here

Seaton Library can be contacted via [email protected] or on 01297 21832
