The undercliff walkway between Sidmouth beach and Jacob's Ladder has reopened.

On Sunday 27 March a small cliff fall occurred on the undercliff walkway and the path remained closed this week for the safety of the public.

The walkway was reopened yesterday (Thursday 31 March) after can inspection was carried out by the district council.

An engineering geologist carried out the inspection and scaling works were completed by rope access contractors.

East Devon's cliffs, including Sidmouth, are inspected on an annual basis. The last check was on March 8.

East Devon District Council has thanked the public for its patience whilst the work was completed.
