Sixth form students at Honiton Community College enjoyed a visit from Doreen Hooper today - the woman behind the Chemotherapy Care Kits initiative started in Honiton earlier this year.

The kits contain specially selected items, which provide comfort and reassurance for patients going through chemotherapy.

The idea came about whilst Doreen was receiving treatment for cancer herself, and friends provided her with a gift bag to help her through her journey.

Now sixth form students at the college are collecting items to make their own kits to then deliver to local chemotherapy units.

If you would like to donate any items from the list below – please drop them off to the Honiton Community College reception desk.

Donations must be received by Friday 6 December to allow students time to sort, pack and deliver the kits.

Chemotherapy Care Kits include:

Hand wipes (preferably antibacterial)

Hand gel

Lip Balm

Nail oil / strengthener

Small packs of tissues
