An experienced healthcare professional, turned qualified aesthetics practitioner, is setting up a clinic on Honiton High Street.

What is challenging at the best of times has been made doubly difficult with lockdown and Covid-scare blighting new businesses.

Despite the set backs, Director of Devon Facial Aesthetics, Victoria Shaw, is determined to make a success of her beauty venture.

She told us: "I set up the business last September, but it has obviously been hit hard by Covid.

"I tried to reopen in December when non-essential businesses were allowed to reopen, however I had to close again because of the lockdown.

"It's been a really tough year for new businesses, and the self-employed, but I am determined to make a success of it."

Having worked as a midwife and midwifery lecturer, Victoria is well-placed to offer a professional service of the highest quality.

"I think the aspect of my business that I want to make people aware of is that I am an experienced healthcare professional who has undergone extra training to deliver these aesthetic treatments," she explained.

"There are so many people delivering unsafe practice in aesthetics because of how largely unregulated the industry is."

Victoria is passionate about empowering people to feel confident and comfortable in their bodies. She specialises in natural-looking enhancements using industry recognised brands and for the Botox, a prescription-only medication purchased from a pharmacy.

"Throughout my career, I have spent a lot of time working with women who feel differently about their bodies and sometimes lose their confidence."

"I have always taken pride in my position as a midwife to support women in accepting and loving their bodies.

"As an aesthetics practitioner I am able to safely and effectively deliver natural, subtle looking enhancements to both women and men and help them regain their self-love."
