Students at Honiton Community College receive CPR training
On Wednesday 6 November, all of year 7, 9 and Sixth Form students received CPR training as part of the national 'Restart a Heart' campaign.
The lifesaving skills were provided by the British Heart Foundation, St Johns Ambulance and two medical students from Exeter University.
30 minute sessions per group taught the students that without CPR, the chances of surviving a cardiac arrest are zero.
Students were able to practice giving CPR on mannequins and were showed how a defibrillator works.
The message was simple - when the stakes are this high, don't think twice, just try.
A spokesperson for Honiton Community College commented: "The students who participated in the training were a credit to the College.
"They were focussed throughout every session, asking sensible and thoughtful questions.
"Thank you also to St Johns Ambulance and the volunteers involved."
