First Honiton Scouts and The Honiton Millennium Green have both benefited from a community book sale at the town's Tesco.

They both were gifted £500 from the sale of books donated by customers and colleagues.

Helen Turner, scout leader, said: "This is a great gift and has come at the right time for us. We will use this money to purchase a new tent for future projects."

The Millennium Green, nestled in a vastly growing corner of the Glen, is currently extending and promoting the Green.

Kassa Retter said: "On behalf of the trustees and the people of Honiton we accept this generous donation from the Tesco Book Sale."

Community manager, Duncan, added: "We are here for our community in more ways than many could know. It is amazing to be able to share the proceeds from the book sale to multiple organisations. This time it is the Green and Scouts, previously we have supported the Christmas Lights, the Lions and many, many more"
