Traffic Update: Honiton Fire Station still at scene of lorry fire in Ottery
14.15pm: A statement from Devon Fire Service said: "Crews from Ottery St Mary, Honiton, Middlemoor and Danes Castle attended a lorry fire on the B4174, Exeter Road.
"Crews got to work using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel and 2 foam jets.
"Crews from Honiton and Ottery St Mary Fire Station are still in attendance.
1.25pm: A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police said: "We were called at 8.25am today, 25 July, following reports that a lorry had left Exeter Road, Ottery St Mary, and gone into a ditch.
"The male driver managed to get out of the vehicle safe and well.
"The HGV then set alight and fire and police attended.
"The road remains closed. Devon Highways have now taken over the closure."
Update 1.15pm: The fire has now been put out but the road remains closed.
The lorry will need recovering and the road will also need to be assessed for any fire damage.
Update 12pm: Devon County Council have said the road is still closed and urged motorists to find alternative routes.
A road is closed in Ottery St. Mary due to a lorry fire.
The B3174 is closed in both directions - Exeter Road from A30 (Daisy Mount Cross) to Birdcage Lane.
Traffic is reported to be coping well.
