You may wonder how you ever did without Bits & Bobs - one of the newest additions to Honiton High Street.

It's a value homewares shop selling all kinds of things you might need around the house, including cleaning products, toiletries, stationery and a whole lot more.

It's the kind of place you might pop into for one item - and then realise how many of the other things on the shelves you need for your home.

The family business has opened up in the former COFI premises at 112 High Street, and owner Nigel Swinburne says: "Our aim is to offer real value to our customers on items that we all use in our everyday lives.

"We stock products from microfibre cloths to toothpicks and sink plungers to cold drinks and we are always looking for new things to stock, so if you think there's something missing then please let us know."

'This town is supportive of independent businesses'

He said the family decided to 'take the plunge' and open in Honiton because they felt it was such a promising location: "After looking at many other areas it was very obvious to us that the this town was fully supportive of independent businesses.

"With many high streets suffering over the last few years we are pleased to be able to open on one that is clearly bucking the trend and looks to have a good future ahead of it.

"Opening a value homeware shop has been something we've wanted to do for a while, so when an opportunity came after 23 years working for a major retailer, we decided now was our time - and here we are.

"Opening the shop during a pandemic has brought a new set of challenges - but ones we aim to overcome and establish ourselves along with the other independent shops in the town.

"We look forward to welcoming you all to our shop and hope we have all the all the Bits & Bobs you need!"
