Up Close: New gift and craft shop opens in Honiton

By Will Goddard 18th Dec 2021

Tina Winsley has opened a craft and gift shop on Honiton high street, which sells bespoke presents for all occasions.

Items for sale in the shop include bespoke cards, baby's clothes, customised pillows, other items of personalised clothing and Christmas wreaths.

Tina moved to Devon two years ago, and before that lived in Essex. Her brother and sister live in the town, and this is part of the reason why she moved down here.

She now lives in a village just outside of Honiton.

So far, Tina has found the people of Honiton to be very friendly: "I have met some wonderful people here in Honiton who have welcomed my family with no judgement.

"Before I moved to Devon l had always dreamed of opening up a little shop on the high street."

Craft T's creations is Tina's first business, and she is running the shop largely on her own, although her daughter, Brittany, helps out.

Tina has always been interested in crafts and bespoke creations. She explained: "I have been making wedding bouquets and flower displays since I was 17 years old.

"It's been a hobby for a very long time and I am always asked if I have a shop."

Asked what she enjoys about making bespoke gifts for people, she said: "The lovely comments I received from customers. A bride smiling holding her bouquet: it's a nice feeling."

There are many Christmas presents available in the shop, including handmade decorations, flower displays and cross stitch.

You can find Craft T's Creations at 59 High Street, Honiton. They also have a Facebook page and a website, which you can view here.
