Honiton high street's latest shop, Honiton Art and Technology Studio, has opened at 140 High Street.

It offers a range of photography and IT services as well as featuring local artists' work.

The business is owned by Gemma Varney and her partner Josh Davis.

Gemma and Josh provide professional IT services and support, for example helping people set up their printers at home or assisting with basic document management.

In addition, they offer photography training to individuals and businesses. This could include helping individuals use their cameras or assisting businesses with skills such as studio lighting.

Josh largely manages the IT services whilst Gemma looks after the photography department.

Gemma and Josh both live just a few hundred feet from their shop and Gemma's family run a farm on the outskirts of Honiton, so she knows the area well. Josh is from Chard.

Gemma said the business is going well so far: "We've had lots of local businesses come in saying we're just down the road. People are just getting to know that we're here and we are going to do a few launch evenings."

Gemma's photography business has been running since 2012, but she has not had a shop before.

She continued: "This is my first shop, but it isn't my first studio. I've had a few different studios in the past, but we wanted somewhere to work that was more visible for our businesses than working at home."

"We feature local artist's work. We've got a lad whose 17 and he's studying photography. Together we've chosen a set of five or six. Anybody who wants to show me their work I'm keen to see."

The Art and Technology Studio is open 10am – 5pm at 140 High Street, Honiton.
