Watch the video above, sent to us by a reader, which shows a military helicopter flying erratically near the Seaton Road outside Honiton yesterday (February 18).

He told Nub News: "We thought the helicopter was in trouble at first, as it was falling from the sky so fast.

"It then accelerated back up again and even started reversing mid-air.

"We watched it doing dangerous manoeuvres for nearly half an hour."

Nub News contacted the Ministry of Defence for more information.

A spokesperson told us: "It's hard for us to pinpoint exactly what it was doing, but it's a Wildcat Helicopter.

"Wildcats are operated by both the Royal Navy and British Army and by the company who builds them Leonardos (Helicopters) in Yeovil.

"So, either of those two services could be doing some basic helicopter training, or Leonardos could be doing a test flight."
