Stephen and his wife Hayley Turner secured the purchase of a Honiton Town Boundary Sign, which they donated to Allhallows Museum.
Stephen, who now lives in Birmingham, left Honiton when he was 22-years-old, but has many fond memories of growing up in the town.
He told us: "I heard through the grapevine that the Honiton sign was coming up for auction, and I couldn't bear the thought of it going out of Honiton so I decided to buy it for the museum in memory of my father William Frank Turner, 'Frank' as he was always known.
"He worked for Dodds as a painter and decorator and for hardings back in the 60s.
"I'd grown up in Honiton, in Jerrard Crescent. My uncle, Brian Humphries, worked at the Bookies and I had family working at Honiton Pottery.
"I worked at The Dolphin Hotel, The Three Tuns, Pit Club and Honiton Motel, amongst other places until I decided to move for a job as a cocktail bar tender when the countries first TGI Fridays opened in Birmingham.
"I ended up being an art dealer and art agent. I have an art gallery in London and supply art galleries around the UK.
"I've been doing this for about 25-years now and although I'm far from Honiton, I still love the traditions and visit whenever I can."
