WATCH: 'Nature Shorts' film from Honiton's Thelma Hulbert Gallery

By The Editor 17th Sep 2021

Honiton's Thelma Hulbert Gallery may be closed but the gallery is staying connected online, sharing art practices and workshops to help keep our spirits up.

The above video is one of a series of short films about nature and art called Tetrapods Returned and was created by Jo Lathwood and Paul Blakemore.

These remarkable tetrapods were created by artist Jo Lathwood for last September's exhibition 'Well Trodden Wrong Ways'.

The exhibition investigated East Devon's Jurassic Coast. Jo sculpted the tetrapods from local stone found along the Jurassic coast.

The film created by her collaborator, photographer Paul Blakemore, shows the final stage of their journey as they are returned to the sea from where they came.

Part of Culture + Climate 2020 in partnership with East Devon AONB, Nature Shorts is an online series showcasing art practices which inspire, build creativity and deepen our connection with nature especially during isolation.

Watch out for the next Nature Short on Wednesday, May 13.
