With spring - hopefully - well on its way, here is Nub News' selection of events and activities taking place in East Devon this weekend and over the Easter holiday.

The Pirate Tram 

Take a ride on the special Pirate Tram from Seaton to Colyford - this is the perfect Easter Holiday activity for the whole family.

Wildlife Hunt 

A donkey at The Donkey Sanctuary (TDS)

Celebrate Easter and the incredible biodiversity at The Donkey Sanctuary by going on an Easter Wildlife Hunt. 

Find the wildlife boards and match them to the provided stickers. £5 per child, including an Easter prize.

Easter Trail 

Easter Trail at Heron Farm (Heron Farm)

Come along to Heron Farm this Easter Holiday! Find the hidden rabbits, each one with a clue for a puzzle, and then claim your prize and chocolate egg.

There will be clues for younger and older children. It is not necessary to book the trail, but Heron Farm recommends booking if you'd like to eat at the café before or afterwards.

£5 per child. From 9am.

Pigments Into Paint Workshop and Demo

Join Fiona McIntyre, the co-curator and exhibiting artist of Paradise Found, New Visions of the Blackdown Hills for a fascinating skills workshop and demonstration in creating your own paint pigments.

The Wild Escape - Community workshops for children

Workshops in the community (Thelma Hulbert)

Thursday 13 April, 11am to 3pm, St. Paul's estate

Drop into St. Paul's estate for a community workshop aimed at children. Help Honiton's award-winning gallery create artistic items for Earth Day.

Tales from Acorn Wood 

Based on the popular stories by Julia Donaldson and illustrated by Axel Scheffler, Tales from Acorn Wood is brought to life on state for the very first time.

Dinosaur Family Fun Day 

Enjoy a day of dinosaur themed-fun at Exeter Racecourse. There will be a climbing wall, bouncy castle, arts and crafts, rangers with baby dinosaurs and lots more!

Ottery Football Club Family Fun Day

Family Fun Day for all the Family

From 10.30am at Ottery St. Mary Football Club.

There will be a climbing wall, tombola, candyfloss, live music, penalty shootout games and more!

Greendale Easter Egg Trail

Pop along to Greendale Farm for their completely free Easter Egg Trail. The first clue is available from the Farm Shop and then just follow the trail until you find your reward!

Running until April 10.
