Following a six-hour Standards Hearing conducted by a sub committee at East Devon District Council (EDDC) on March 12, three separate complaints made against Cllr John Taylor were upheld and sanctions imposed.

The UK's first electric commuter flight is to take off from Exeter Airport, after it was chosen as a testing site for the shift towards greener aviation.

A programme has been launched to explore whether hybrid-electric aircraft can be used within the existing aviation system, in what's being described as 'a huge step towards transforming the future of air travel'.

The organisation providing Devon's NHS 111 and out-of-hours GP services has been told to make urgent improvements after a watchdog found patients were at risk, and rated it 'inadequate' overall.

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) found several areas of concern during an inspection of Devon Doctors in July 2020. A follow-up inspection in December found not enough improvements had been made, and the service has now been placed in special measures.

An elderly Honiton resident has been put into temporary housing after a fire broke out at her property in Hornbeam Close this morning (March 15).

Firefighters from Honiton, Sidmouth and Ottery St Mary were tasked to the domestic blaze, which started in the kitchen, at around 11.20am.

Honiton residents have something to look forward to this summer, after organisers announce that planning is under way for Charter Day 2021.
