Two landmark venues in Devon are opening as NHS Vaccination Centres today (26 Jan), ready to vaccinate tens of thousands of local people in coming weeks.
The exhibition and event venue, Westpoint Exeter, will be offering their first booked appointments to people in priority groups today (Tuesday).
Minister for Media and Data, John Whittingdale, has praised Nub News for showing there is still a demand for community-focussed local journalism.
The Maldon MP's endorsement follows the expansion of Nub News into 62 towns across the UK in recent months, including the launch of Honiton Nub News two years ago.

An intrepid team of rowers who are days away from crossing the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge finish line in aid of the Devon Freewheelers are keen to raise £10,000 before they reach dry land.
The four-strong Force Genesis, who set off on the 3,000-mile row on December 12, 2020, have under 600 miles to go before they cross the finish line at Nelson's Dockyard English Harbour, in Antigua.

The number of coronavirus cases confirmed across Devon and Cornwall has fallen in the previous seven days – but not everywhere.
A total of 3,521 new cases were confirmed across the two counties in the last week as the total for the two counties now stands at 39,061 – the third highest weekly figure.
Devon's highway teams are preparing for the possibility of widespread snow showers on Sunday, with up to 5cm of the white stuff expected.
The county's army of around 325 snow warden volunteers have been alerted by the County Council and they will be standing by in case they need to be called into action.

A trio of challenges in memory of a much-loved 'petrol-head' dad who died from Covid-19 will raise funds for the Honiton-based Devon Freewheelers.
Mum-of-three Kelly Lawson, aged 42, of St Leonards, in Exeter, is gearing up for a busy spring when she tackles her own Challenge 62, as a tribute to dad David Meyer, from Chelston, in Torquay, who died from coronavirus in March 2020.

There are currently 11 vacant seats at Honiton Town Council, and providing coronavirus restrictions don't push things back again, elections are scheduled to take place in May 2021.
