Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a fire at the above location.

On arrival the incident commander confirmed a small fire in the roof of property. Crews promptly got to work using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet to extinguish the fire and one thermal imaging camera to locate hotspots.

Location: Road to Badgers Hill Ottery St Mary

Fire Control received a request for assistance from our colleagues in Ambulance Control to assist with a casualty that had fallen onto a flat roof at a property in Ottery St Mary this afternoon.
One fire engine from our Sidmouth fire station was mobilised immediately.
On arrival crews liaised with Ambulance personnel on scene and confirmed that there was one adult male casualty requiring assistance. Crews set to work with a triple extension ladder to attempt to reach the roof area.
Ambulance mobilised their Hart Team to assist with the rescue. Crews continued to attempt the rescue working with our partners from Ambulance using one triple extension ladder and crews wearing safety working at heights protective clothing and equipment.
One male casualty was rescued and using a stretcher was carried to a land Ambulance for paramedics to assess and transport the patient to hospital.

Location: Mill Street Ottery St Mary

Fire Control received a call for assistance from our colleagues in Ambulance requesting help with an RTC at the above location this lunchtime.
One fire engine from Ottery St Mary and one from Honiton stations was mobilised to the incident.
On arrival crews confirmed that one vehicle had left the roadway and collided with two stationary vehicles and a house. There was one female still within the vehicle who was physically unable to get out.
Crews were able to identify a further means of escape via the back of the vehicle and were quick to assist in ensuring the casualty was moved to a place of safety.
The casualty was left in the hands of the paramedics and the scene was handed over to police who will remain on site awaiting the arrival of a Building Surveyor who has been called to check the safety of the property hit by the colliding vehicle.

Location: Silver Street, Honiton

Fire Control received an emergency call this morning to reports of a fire in a ceiling at a business premises an evacuation was taking place.
One fire engine from Honiton and one from Ottery St Mary were mobilised.
On arrival crews confirmed that the fire appeared to be out on arrival but began work removing roof tiles using a ceiling hook and small tools, to check for fire spread. Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for any hot spots.
Power to the premises was also isolated.
The cause of the fire was accidental and duty of care was left with staff on site.
