A horse was rescued from a ditch in East Devon yesterday after a three hour rescue operation.
The horse, weighing 700kg, was reported trapped in a ditch near Green End Lane in Plymtree at around 8.40am yesterday (February 11).

Location: Reme Drive, Heathpark Industrial Estate, Honiton
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call to a fire at the above location.
On arrival the incident commander confirmed a small fire in the roof of property. Crews promptly got to work using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one covering jet to extinguish the fire and one thermal imaging camera to locate hotspots.

Location: Road to Badgers Hill Ottery St Mary
Fire Control received a request for assistance from our colleagues in Ambulance Control to assist with a casualty that had fallen onto a flat roof at a property in Ottery St Mary this afternoon.
One fire engine from our Sidmouth fire station was mobilised immediately.
On arrival crews liaised with Ambulance personnel on scene and confirmed that there was one adult male casualty requiring assistance. Crews set to work with a triple extension ladder to attempt to reach the roof area.
Ambulance mobilised their Hart Team to assist with the rescue. Crews continued to attempt the rescue working with our partners from Ambulance using one triple extension ladder and crews wearing safety working at heights protective clothing and equipment.
One male casualty was rescued and using a stretcher was carried to a land Ambulance for paramedics to assess and transport the patient to hospital.
