Green Spaces Guided Walking Tour
The Beehive, Dowell Street, Honiton, EX14 1LZ
Leisure
UNTIL Saturday 16th July
Our green spaces walking tour takes in some of Honiton's most picturesque places. We will be exploring the Glen, the Gissage and Roundball Hill (there's an alternative route back to the Beehive if the hill is too much! You may choose at the time as there are two planned routes.)
Both walks will combine for the first half during which participants will see areas such as the Millennium Green, Vernon corner, Honiton Bottom Nature Reserve and the allotments. You will find hidden places, pick up interesting facts and snippets of Honiton history – and perhaps you may even have some to share?
You're asked to book a place in advance so that the Beehive knows numbers for your enthusiastic guides Jo Lowman and Ian Jeeves and they can cover the cost of your coffee and cake in the café on return.
Meet in The Beehive carpark at 10am - sturdy boots on and appropriate clothing for the great British weather!
Two walks are available.
Walk 1 – Just over 5 miles with a total ascent of 761 feet. Estimated time 2¼ hours.
Walk 2 – Just under 4 1/2 miles with a total ascent of 511 feet. Estimated 1¾ hours.
At Honiton Bottom Road the groups will split. One will return to The Beehive via Roundball Hill; the other along by The Gissage.
