Faber Green, who is a pupil at Offwell Primary School, completed a charity run on 15 January and he raised £210.

The Devon Air Ambulance is a charity which funds two air ambulances and two critical car emergency response cars.

In 2021, Devon Air Ambulance responded to 1,900 missions. They receive no government funding and rely on donations.

The fundraising event took place at Fingle Bridge, Dartmoor and Faber completed the run in 31 minutes.

The run was part of the modules which Faber needed to complete for his Torbay and Devon Civic Award, which is an award scheme run through Devon primary schools.

Faber told Nub News: "It was fun training, but hard. I like helicopters.

"I wanted to raise money for Air Ambulance because they save so many lives. We enjoy watching the documentary about the Yorkshire Air Ambulance."

Faber's father Thomas told Nub News: "Faber had been training since he decided to do the run in November.

"We are both [Faber's mother and father] very pleased with how grown up he has been, not only doing the training and run but in the organisation and fundraising.

"It has been a great boost for his confidence, which is important for kids when they are about to move up from primary school."

Faber's mother, Tasmin, said: "I am very proud of him and it is a great achievement for a 10 year old.

"I'm also quite proud of myself too, as we trained together, and I completed the run with him."

To help raise funds, Faber set up a Just Giving page and collected donations at school. He also put some posters up in the village of Offwell and received donations from residents.
