Freya Alexander, 10, is donating her hair to the The Princess Trust

Freya Alexander from Honiton has been growing her hair for the past 18 months so that she can donate it to the Little Princess Trust.

The charity provide wigs made from real hair to children and young people up to the age of 24, who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other conditions such as alopecia.

Freya is 10-years-old. She is in year six at Littletown Primary Academy and a member of East Devon Dance Academy, as part of the junior dance company.

Freya heard about the Little Princess Trust and was keen to do something to help. She said she could not imagine not having hair and that by donating her hair for a wig it may help restore confidence and identity for someone.

Freya will be having 13 inches cut off her hair on Saturday 9 January at House of Hair in New Street Honiton, by owner Lynn.

Freya has set up a Just Giving page which has so far raised £268 of the £500 target.
