Honiton Primary and schools in Offwell, Ottery St. Mary, Farway and Awliscombe have announced that they will not be open tomorrow due to the severe adverse weather that is expected to hit the South West from tomorrow morning.

The Met Office have issued an Orange Weather Warning for Honiton for tomorrow, February 18.

Storm Eunice is coming to UK on Friday and Honiton will see 'extremely strong winds' with potential gusts of up to 62mph. There is likely to be travel disruption on the roads and rail, with potential flooding. Damage to trees, buildings and powerlines is possible.

The Met Office also warned that large waves are expected, and beach material could be thrown onto seafronts and promenades.

A statement from Devon County Council said: "Devon County Council is advising people to only travel if absolutely necessary with 'extremely strong winds' expected over the next few days and reaching a peak on Friday morning."
