The Met Office have issued an Amber Weather Warning for Wind for much of the UK, including Honiton, and it is expected to cause delays on the railways throughout the day.

Storm Eunice will bring strong winds and the potential for flying debris, which could endanger life. Many schools in Devon are not open today due to the weather.

As a consequence of the forecast winds, which are expected to reach 60mph, South Western Railway are running their trains at reduced speed on all lines.

From early on Friday, a speed limit of 50mph was imposed across the entire network and this speed limit will be in place until 9pm on Friday.

A specialist team is on standby to remove debris, such as fallen trees or powerlines, from the tracks.

There is the possibility that services may be cancelled, experience delays or be subject to a timetable revision.

The disruption to services is expected to last until the end of Friday.

South Western Railway are advising against all travel. Tickets booked for today will be accepted on tomorrow's services or they can be rebooked at another time with no administration fee charges.
