Air ambulance and rescue services called to collision on Smeatharpe racetrack
One fire appliance from Honiton and one from Wellington were sent to a collision involving two cars on Smeatharpe Stadium yesterday (August 26) at 18.36.
The driver of one of the vehicles was trapped inside with injuries.
A statement from Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue read: "Fire Control mobilised the heavy rescue vehicle from Middlemoor Exeter due to the details of the incident.
"Crews arrived on scene and got to work with hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate the casualty.
"Paramedics and Police were also on scene, along with the air ambulance.
"Crews worked alongside paramedics to rescue the casualty, and transferred the casualty to the waiting air ambulance. Duty of care of the scene was left with the Police."
