Award ceremony recognises the achievements of Honiton's star students

The annual Student Awards ceremony at Honiton Town Council took place at the meeting on Monday (July 8).

Principal at Honiton Community College, Glenn Smith, presented an award to ten students who were chosen for various achievements and for excelling over the course of this academic year.

The students (who were selected from across the year groups) were praised for their endeavours - including sporting, drama, vocabulary, high grades and hard work.

Glenn Smith gave an individual speech for each of the students, with statements from the teachers who had nominated them, explaining the reasons why they had been chosen.

They were each given a book token, provided by the Town Council.
