The Christmas lights display in Honiton High Street is provided for by a community-supported committee, backed by Honiton Town Council.
Last year was a huge success - with local businesses helping to raise £5,000 for the cause.
This huge sum of money covers the installation and removal of the lights. They also need be maintained, repaired and in some cases replaced when they are old, or subject to damage.
It is hoped that enough can be fundraised this year to ensure another magical display in the town.
Local businesses are being asked to make a donation, or to sponsor one of the lamp post displays in the High Street.
This year, sponsorship will cost £100 for a single display on one of the lamp posts, with a sign on the post showing the name of the company sponsoring it.
In addition, the sponsorship will be acknowledged on the websites and social media pages of both Honiton Town Council and Honiton and District Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Chair of the Honiton Christmas Lights Working Group, Cllr Duncan Sheridan-Shaw said: "The Christmas lights are a huge draw for Honiton and the community always turns out in great numbers to support the light switch on.
"We desperately need businesses to support the cause and help us to transform Honiton into a winter wonderland over the festive season."
